Welcome!

Niina Marni, Marni Naa Pudni!
Are you good? We’re glad you came!

The Hub Preschool is a place of belonging, for everyone to feel safe, to feel they are seen and heard, and to share their ideas and understandings.

We place positive relationships with children at the centre of our work and are responsive to their needs

We nurture children

  • to explore and be challenged through an engaging, play-based learning program related to children’s individual interests, thoughts and ideas.
  • to develop dispositions of curiosity, collaboration, cooperation, persistence and resilience
  • in nature which offers authentic opportunities to build a strong foundation of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and key areas of literacy, numeracy and the arts.

We welcome and value diversity and the cultural and social contexts of all children and families and work in partnership with them and the community.

Enrolment

When can your child start preschool

Your child is entitled to access 4 terms (1 year) of government preschool in the year before they start school.

Children who turn 4 years old:

  • before 1 May can start preschool at the beginning of the year
  • on 1 May to 31 October can start preschool through the mid-year intake at the start of term 3 of that year
  • after 31 October can start preschool at the start of the following year.

Regardless of whether your child starts at the beginning of the year, or through a mid-year intake they will undertake 4 terms of preschool.

If you are not sure about the best time for your child to start preschool or feel your child may benefit from starting preschool later, talk to us about your options.

Early entry

Aboriginal children and children who are or have been in care are eligible for 15 hours of preschool a week after they turn 3, continuing until they start school.

If you have a child with disability or additional needs, they might be able to start preschool earlier if there are places available. Talk to us if this applies to you. Being given early entry to preschool does not guarantee early entry to school.

Immunisation

For a child to enrol and continue to attend a preschool, they must meet the immunisation requirements under the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 (SA). A current record showing up to date immunisation for the child must be provided.

Register Your Interest

You can register your interest to enrol your child with us by using the preschool registration of interest form. This form is also available from us.

Please try to register your interest by 30 June for Term 1 intake or October 31 for Term 3 intake, however you can do this any time during the year.

Priority will be given to children living in our catchment area. If you don’t live in our catchment area you should indicate at least 2 other preschool options on your form.

Transition Visits

Your child can attend complimentary transition visits held in the term before they begin preschool. Term 2 or 4. Children are encouraged to attend the visits to get to know other children, educators and the kindergarten learning spaces.

Fees

We ask you to contribute towards the cost of your child attending preschool. The parent contribution is $180 per term which is set by the Governing Council.

Key Policies

“The spaces always look inviting, well thought out for the children and seem to follow the emerging interests of the age group of children in attendance”
